There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

Philippians 1:6
Message Bible

Life is a series of problems-every time you solve one, another is waiting to take its place!

God has a purpose behind every problem.

What are some tools that you used to shape the

Lawn?

Wood?

Clay?

God uses circumstances shape us

Do no be surprised at the painful trial
you are suffering, as though something
strange were happening to you.
But rejoice that you participate
in the sufferings of Christ,
so you may be overjoyed
when his glory is revealed.

1 Peter 4:12
Message Bible

TWISTED!
All who had an orange or orange juice for breakfast-
GRAB THE LEFT KNEE OF THE PERSON IN FRONT OF YOU
All of you who like basketball more than baseball--
GRAB THE RIGHT ELBOW ...
All of you who prefer pizza with pineapple to pizza with green peppers- GRAB THE LEFT ANKLE ...
All of you who like to watch the Simpsons on TV-
GRAB THE BACK OF THE NECK ...
All of you who flossed your teeth today-
GRAB THE RIGHT SOLE OF THE SHOE ...
All of you who have been to a foreign country-
All of you who have been to TWO or more times-
WELCOME EVERYONE!

Life does get confusing and
TWISTED!

So how do we make through the maze of life?

Good friend, don't forget all I've taught you;
take to heart my commands.

They'll help you live a long, long time,
a long life lived full and well.

Don't lose your grip on Love and Loyalty.
Tie them around your neck;
carve their initials on your heart.
Earn a reputation for living well in God's eyes
and the eyes of the people.

Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart;
don't try to figure out everything on your own.

Listen for GOD's voice in everything you do,
everywhere you go;

he's the one who will keep you on track.

What lessons about life, community, and God
can be learned in the
JUNK YARD?

We started out our junk yard challenge
with a few rules, guidelines
and a table of somebody's junk--
OUR TREASURE!

Two teams were chosen--
The Jessicas
and the
Ten Dollas

Each team created three
crews--
the Construction crew,
the Racing crew,
and the Track Design crew

The CHALLENGE:
Design and build a vehicle
in a set amount of time
that can negotiate an
obstacle course track
( also designed by the teams)

The vehicle is to have a
--driver
--passenger
--engine (a person!
someone to push or pull the car)

oh . . . by the way . . .

the driver would be blindfolded

and the engine would be blindfolded!

They would be allowed one navigator--
not blindfolded!

Do you sometimes
feel like you are going through
your life blindfolded?!

Who is your navigator?

The clock is running . . .

. . . on your mark get ready

GO!

It's a mad dash to the
Junk Yard Heap

And a tussle for
prime parts!

The Construction Crew get
right to work dismantling the
junk into parts for the
"new vehicles"

The Track design crew plan
and set up the parking lot track

Obstacles, Obstacles!

Cut!

Drill!

Bolt!

Ooops!

That didn't work,
lets try another way!

It takes good tools,
and someone who knows how
to use them!

Ten minute warning. . .

TIME!

Let the track test begin--

Another oops!

last minute changes when
the Ten Dolla vehicle
collapses on the course!

Start your engines

It's not as easy as it looks!
It is easy to get off course
when the navigator gets mixed
up with the directions!

Navigator Ray gets Ten Dolla
(really should be Five Dolla now that it broke in half!)

through a tough spot on the course--
between a rock and a hard place!

We made it!

What we discovered--

--making junk yard cars is fun

--it takes a team to build a car
--it takes trust and patience to work as a team

--it takes trust to drive blindfolded
--it's easy to get stressed out when blindfolded

--the best of plans crash!
. . .just pick up the pieces and try again. . .

--hollow axels bend!
--solid axels are hard to drill

--dead weight passengers make the trip
more difficult

--making junk yard cars is fun!
--driving junk yard cars is challenging--

--a good navigator is important--

Real wisdom, God's wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others.

It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced.

You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor.
