For
most of us,
the God we met in childhood
is "up there" in heaven,
while we live
"down here" on earth

While
we address Him through prayer,
He seems distand and remote--
too far away to ever be close or intimate.

Life
begins with a cry or perhaps a whimper,
the very first breath of earthly existence.
Life ends with a whimper or perhaps a cry,
the final breath of earthly being.

How
many breaths a day?
The
Hebrew word for breath is
ruach
pronouced
ruuuach (ach as in Bach)
It
is the same word for spirit.
In
the opening sentences of the Bible--
the earth was "unformed and void with darkness
upon the deep: and
ruach Elohim"--
the spirit, the breath of God--
"hovered over the water."
And God began to create.
The
very sound of the word
ruuuuuuuach
ruuuuach
ruuuuuuach
breath
in
breath out
the
Spirit of the Living God
within us

Take
time for a "walkabout"
breath
in
breath out
Look
for God around you
Look for God within you
Earth's
crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
But he who seek takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blueberries.

is a name that is generally translated "Lord".
It

Hebrew Scriptures, more than any other word for God.
God
said to Moses,
"I AM WHO I AM";
and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel,
'I AM has sent me to you.'
" God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons
of Israel, ' The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.'
This is My name forever,
and this is My memorial-name to all generations.

no

by which we can be saved,
only this one.
