God where are you?

lost in the dark death house attic,

trampled in the putrid hell hole astrodome?

Ancient Prophet Elijah experienced
the desperation,
the loneliness,
the hopelessness,
" Enough of this, GOD!"

I'm running,
I'm scared,
let me die.

where are you, God?

Elijah stood on the mountain,
Moses' mountain,
the mountain of God
--Mount Sinai--

A hurricane wind ripped through the mountains
and shattered the rocks before GOD,

God had been in the wind that parted the red sea
so many years ago for Moses and the tribes,
where are you now, God?

but GOD wasn't to be found in the wind;

after the wind an earthquake,

God had been in the earthquake that shook this
very mountain so many years ago when
he wrote in stone his law,
where are you now, God?

but GOD wasn't in the earthquake;

and after the earthquake fire,

God had been in the fire of the desert bush
and in the desert pillar ,
where are you now, God?

but GOD wasn't in the fire;
and after the fire

a gentle and quiet whisper.

God!
