Frazzled?

Life styles of the Stressed and Frazzled

What is your hurry score? Take this little test:

___ I prefer to be first in line at a red light and will change lanes to do so.

___ I always seem to be running just a little late.

___ I rely on my ability to multitask.

___ My room could be declared a disaster area.

___ When I'm in the express lane at the grocery store, I count the number

of items in the basket ahead of me.

___ I find myself rushing even when I have no need to rush.

___ I have a difficult time saying no when people ask me to do things.

___ I have all my important phone numbers on speed dial.

___ I would be “lost” without my cell phone with me.

___ I find myself wishing the microwave would hurry up.

___ I have been know to complain about the service at a fast-food

restaurant being too slow.

___ I have to check e-mail at least once a day (including the weekend).

My score: _______ (Give yourself one point for each line checked.)

Hurry Scale:

1 to 3: You have a healthy pace in life.

4 to 6: You have a mild case of hurry sickness.

7 to 9: You have a full-blown case of hurry sickness.

10 to 12: You have a terminal case of hurry sickness.

Do you feel that your life is complex, complicated--

all tied up in knots?

Knots are scientific and mathematical.
Knots are used in sailing and fishing
as well as decorative art.

Celtic knots are an example of knots with complete loops with no end or beginning.

Knotwork tradition in manuscript painting possibly came to Ireland in the middle of the 7th century in manuscripts illuminated by Coptic monks from Egypt or Syria.

Celtic knots or Celtic interlace are ornamental patterns that first became associated with Celtic people in the early Celtic Church where they were used to decorate Bible manuscripts, monuments (notably Celtic crosses and cross slabs) and jewelry.

If that which is not prose must be poetry,
knotwork's meaning defies literal translation
and should be sought at a deeper level.
the repeated crossings
of the physical and the spiritual
are expressed in the interlace of the knots.

The never ending path of the strand
represents the permanence and the continuum of life,
love and faith.

Putting the Puzzle together

--25 pieces--

Is a piece missing?

Yes! The center piece--the cross!
The central cross is necessary
for the design to be fulfilled.

Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in.

Ephesians 3:17

Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:19

I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
may have power, together with all the saints,
to grasp how wide and long and high
and deep is the love of Christ.

Ephesians 3:18

Cross-Connected

at red we are starting a
large, collaborative piece of art to express the message of our relationship to each other and our God.

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit
through the bond of peace.
There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called
to one hope when you were called--
one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all,
Who is over all and through all and in all.

Ephesians 4:3-6

Here is a small scaled design of our "Cross-Connected" texturized message. Each "knot" is interconnected.

Print out copy for your self. Trace the continuous loops through each of the individual knots and the Cross.

If you have an interest in painting, either as a serious artist or have a budding interest, you are encouraged to bring your artist paints and canvas. An easel will be available for your use to facilitate your worship experience.

Don't see yourself as the creative type? It's OK, you will still feel blessed during the worship experience at red.

An offering will be taken. You may participate as you desire. We understand that red may not be the only church you attend.
