Ok, here it is... We have been in Cartago Costa Rica for that last month almost. We have been working on the Farm of Oscar Newball. We have been working on many projects; We poored 130ft. of footer and laid 1050 block forming the walls of a large barn structure. Wow was that a major Project!
We also have fixed a 2 wheel drive toyota pickup; the brakes needed to be completely rebuilt and the engine desperately needed a tune up. We have also provided consistant up-keep of the yard, orchard, and areas surrounding the main house. Oh, we also fixed the bush-hog. The part that holds the blades underneath had snapped in two. I was able to get the right stuff and weld the cast iron part back together... It saved them $300 dollars or so. We sanded the front porch and applied several coats of varnish. We also fabricated a new mounting system for a large machine in the bakery. The machine had been ripping its previous mounts out of the concrete floor, and needed something a lot stronger. We chipped out the concrete, 12in. down, then inserted new pillars, poured concrete, and let it all set up. The new solid metal pillars worked awesome, once it was dry we bolted it up and turned on the machine. It didn´t move! Yep, just one more project completed successfully.
I think we are going to finish up at the Newballs today and move out tomorrow. It has been a wonderful time working there at the farm, but its time to move on. A few weeks back we went to a pathfinder meeting out at a large SDA youth camp. There we met the grounds keeper for the camp. Wow, can you say sad! He works all by himself at this camp. The camp is quit big, ten plus cabins, swimming pool, main house, ampitheater, campsites, cafeteria, just to mention. The place is in desperate need of help. This guy can´t do it all by himself, so we are going to help.
We´ll head over there tomorrow and get things started. We will be taking all our tools. Yesterday we drove out to the camp to get a good idea on what specific projects there were for us to work on. Ok, there is at least six months worth of work for us! This guy is swamped!!! We are going to select a few projects to start on, but we need to rally more support! We will finish our projects, get a relationship established, and try to organized for a group to come down and help. The camp desperately needs a group of 20 or so to drop by for two weeks and do some major renovations!
Our goal is to help out as much as we can at the camp, then return to the states to raise awareness for this camp. Hopefully we will be able to organize for a group to come down. We will return after the ASI meetings in August. God has been providing for us, He is our guiding light, it is in His hands!
Thank you so much for your support!!! We could not have done this on our own! God has blessed us with your generousity. You can not imagine the blessings your funding has provided for the people we are encountering! God is Good! All the time God is GOOD!!
Love,
RAY
