has shared with you a better understanding
of God?

Take the time,
right now,
make a list of those who have
been the candle of the Lord
in your life

A very special person in my life,
Mike Yaconelli,
passed away this Thursday, October 30.
The co-founder and President of Youth Specialties.

He showed me the
God of Love
God of Grace
God of Delight
God of Wonder

He blessed my life.
He was a spiritual mentor in my ministry to youth.
He taught me how to express my passionate love for God.
I thank God for Mike.

This candle is for him.

Celebrate the lights in your life

We placed a candle for each
"light" in our life. . . until
we ran out of cake space!

Are you a candle?

Who in your life
do you have the opportunity
to be the candle of the Lord?

You are the light of the world.
A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

Matthew 5:14

Let your light shine before men
in such a way that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying,
"I am the Light of the world;
he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness,
but will have the Light of life."

Our Prayer

· God, because You are the source of all life and being,

We call You CREATOR.

· Because we know the history of Your presence
among Your people,

We call You LORD.

· Because You are present at the act of birth,
and because You shelter, nurture, and care for us,

We call You MOTHER.

· Because you give us strength and courage
when we are in need,

We call You SUSTAINER.

· Because we have known You in our pain and suffering,

We call You COMFORTER.

· Because beyond pain lies Your promise
of all thing made new,

We call You HOPE.

· Because You are the means of liberation
and the way to freedom,

We call You DELIVERER.

· Because You guide us to a world of goodness and peace,

We call You REDEEMER.

· Because You saved us from our sins,

We call You JESUS.

· Confident that You will hear,
We call upon You With all the names
that make You real to us.

· The names that create an image in our minds and hearts,
An image that our souls can understand and touch.

· And yet, You are much more than all these names,
You are more than we will ever know or comprehend.

· You are our God, in heaven and earth.

You are our God, now and forever

God the Father

God the Son

God the Holy Spirit

One God

My God

My all.

Then the Angel showed me Water-of-Life River, crystal bright. It flowed from the Throne of God and the Lamb,
right down the middle of the street.

The Tree of Life was planted on each side of the River,
producing twelve kinds of fruit, a ripe fruit each month.
The leaves of the Tree are for healing the nations.
Never again will anything be cursed.

The Throne of God and of the Lamb is at the center.
His servants will offer God service--worshiping,
they'll look on his face, their foreheads mirroring God.

Never again will there be any night.
No one will need lamplight or sunlight.
The shining of God, the Master, is all the light anyone needs.

And they will rule with him age after age after age.
